First, a little background…
However crazy it may seem, especially for the youngest growers, 20 years ago, when LaMota opened its store in the old part of San Sebastián, getting cannabis seeds proved quite difficult. While today we’re all surrounded by specific information on each strain and anyone can easily buy whichever seed they feel like with a couple of mouse clicks, some time ago it was nothing like that. We had to import them from countries such as Holland or Switzerland, for which lots of patience and hard work was required.
However, nothing stands in the way of those who truly want something. In 1995, we already grew our own marijuana and did our best to obtain the strains that were killing it worldwide, but that wasn’t enough for us. So we decided to go one step further and open what became one of the first growshops to be created in our country. By doing so, we put at everyone’s disposal not only a wide variety of grow products but also the highly renowned seeds that growers seemed to have trouble getting.
Other national seed banks with their own genetics soon started to crop up. Later on, the revolutionary feminised seeds and also the autoflowering hybrids made their appearance, almost all of which were available in LaMota’s catalogue: you just had to come to the store and pick the one you felt like growing. But this process became way easier with the arrival of our online store, in 2005.
With one of the largest online catalogues, now there’s no need to go to San Sebastián to buy marijuana seeds or any other cannabis-related products. All you have to do is add them to your shopping cart and complete your order. LaMota has managed to simplify the process that proved so complex back in 1995. But the best was yet to come.
One step further: our own seed bank
After 20 years in the cannabis industry, the time has finally arrived. With the experience and expertise gained throughout our long professional career, at LaMota we’ve decided to create our own cannabis seed bank with the strains gathered during over two decades: amazing hybrids we’ve seen, grown, smoked, and shared with our customers.
Of all the genetics we’ve come to meet, we've selected the ones that, in our opinion, have the most special scents or tastes, the best effects or yields and, of course, the ones that prove easier to grow. Our collection features ten autoflowering, ten feminised, and two CBD-rich strains in packs of 1, 3, 5, 10, 25, and 100 seeds, all with a germination rate of 99.99%.
