Leisure is the best time to enjoy cannabis. Responsibility, stress and duty give way to pleasure, carelessness and relax. The user leaves behind horns, bills, hurry and faxes to immerse into a bubble of relaxation and comfort. Wait, slowdown –BANG! Bubble pricked−, leisure is an infinite term. Which is the best moment to enjoy marijuana?

Smoking weed is related to daze, procrastination, red eyes, munchies and non-stop laughs with crying red eyes. These consequences derived from smoking have shaped the stoner stereotype in the collective imagination. They don’t marry ok with the desirable healthy and responsible life of a proactive member of our formidable society. Although many smokers haven’t learned yet to organize their time and govern their habit, when the user matures, the stoner stereotype draws away from reality.

Listening to music

Almost every smoker agrees on this point. Cannabis is the perfect bride for music. All you have to do is to lean back, open your bag of let’s say OG Kush, roll a joint and turn on the music. Marijuana powers your sensory perception and therefore allows you to enjoy music in a higher state. You become more receptive to sensations, identify chords or even distinguish instruments. You dive into an audible universe of colors. You sail away from everything.

During physical activity

Despite the first impression, weed matches well with physical activities. I’m obviously not talking about serious sports like running or swimming but mild activities. For example, walking is perfect for cannabis because it has a slow pace that grants focusing on surroundings. Smoking also makes pleasant any boring or repetitive task like cleaning, sweeping, washing or any other housekeeping chores.

But careful! If you always smoke while doing a specific activity you can form a habit. Every time you clean you’ll go cold turkey. Keep an eye on that.

Outdoor vs indoor

Indoors are good for the art of introspection. Many writers like Martin Amis use cannabis to stimulate creativity (not for writing). Open air places are fantastic to focus on surroundings because they project your senses, especially sight. That’s why trekking matches perfectly with smoking and that’s why many mountaineers smoke weed.

With friends or alone

I’d choose with friends but… if you’re looking to achieve the art of introspection mentioned before you’ll be better alone. Nevertheless, cannabis not only tunes people in but builds up very strong connections (we’ll deal with the sex issue in another post). This is why a nonsmoker will find odd the arguments, train of thought and laughs of cannabis users. Anyway, if you smoke with people you must feel comfortable and easy. Barriers, bad environments or resentment aren’t recommendable because the experience won’t be satisfactory.

Remember that cannabis amplifies moods and states of mind. You can be superhappy as well as superblue. If your mood isn’t the right one, don’t smoke.

Day vs night

This really depends on the user but most of people smoke at night, when the workday is over; after dinner. However, it is really surprising to surf weed forums to find that some users favorite moment is the stunning and commonly known as wake n bake. Some smokers find that a morning joint lights up their day.
