Harvest time is approaching and you need to have everything ready as the time to reap the fruits of all your work arrives. What are you going to need? In addition to tools to make your task easier like peelers and cutters,−which we have already discussed in a previous post–you will surely need scissors, drying utensils, boxes and vacuum-seal containers to store your treasured product... Even magnifying glasses and microscopes.

Magnifying glasses and microscopes will help you to determine exactly the right time to cut your marijuana, but they will also help you to keep an eye on your plants during the growing period: you'll know if you have pests, diseases, good colour, if they are growing properly, and if there are any abnormalities. Moreover, they are always useful to analyse and examine your grass to discover things you did not know.

You can find a foldable magnifying glass with a stand for 9.72 euros. It is small, can be comfortably handled, and is specially designed to allow you to determine whether your marijuana buds are already mature.

If you want something more sophisticated we recommend the Lumagny 60-100 x MINI magnifying class, which you can carry in your pocket, and with which you can zoom in, augmenting view sizes up to 100 times the original size. It features a built-in LED light, is compact, and easy to use. It allows its user to observe his buds’ maturation status by determining the colour of their trichomes. And it won´t even affect your electricity bill, as it runs on batteries. Its price: 17.88 euros.

For a little bit less - 11.45 euros – you can enjoy the Lumagny Led 100microscope. Its features are very similar to those of the aforementioned magnifying glasses: it is a very manual object with which you will be able to monitor the process right from the incipient stages, as its magnifying lens allows you to see even the most miniscule characteristics in detail.

When your crop is ready the times comes to cut it, for which you can choose from various models of scissors. We recommend four types here. Precision Leef Kleen scissors are retractile, made of stainless steel, and their straight tip is designed for precise pruning and trimming.

They are ideal to fix the small leaves near buds which have already been collected, though it is also possible to use them to eliminate larger leaves which may deprive the plant of light during its flowering period. You will need to be very careful because the blades are very sharp and fine, though their spring will keep your hand from getting tired. They are highly functional, and sell for around 5.99 euros.

For a little bit more you can get a pair of Poda Pvc scissors, which are retractile, have a curved tip, comfortable PVC handles, and stand out for their strength and durability.

If what you need are scissors that also double as clamps, you have got it: their design is ergonomic and their tip is as fine as it is elegant. It should be said that they are designed for very carefully cared for crops, and their price is 28 euros.

If you only need something basic, to get by, then you can use Hortiline scissors. They are made of stainless steel, and we can guarantee that they are built to last. Their cuts are clean and their ergonomic design makes working with them comfortable. The best part of all? You only need to press a bit with your hands to make the cut, and the tool returns to its original position. Actually, the best part of all is their price: 1.54 euros.

Once the product is cut, gathered and pared it is time to dry it, a process crucial to its handling. Most advisable is the use of hanging meshes in which the marijuana can be stored and dried under favourable conditions, and in the most suitable place you can find – which tends to be somewhere dark.

In this case we recommend stackable 100 x 100 cm meshes. This is a light and easy to handle tray featuring an upper mesh on which you place your buds, a clean and safe system that allows you to save space and keep your grass ventilated and away from fungi.

Thanks to its design you can use as many trays as you need in a 100 x 100 cm space, in which you'll be able to dry large amounts of grass. When you finish the process you can break down and store the mesh. It sells for 8.75 euros.

Round, hanging drying meshes can also be folded away. They cost a bit more (31.81) but are made of a perforated cloth that allows the plant to ventilate properly. They also offer up to nine vertical levels, for optimum space use.

We also recommend that you use vacuum-seal boxes and bottles for curing, conservation, storage and transport.

You will be able to choose from more than ten vacuum-seal bottles - and several bags - costing from 1.69 euros to 59 euros. We recommend the 120 ml , 290 ml, 570 ml, 1.3 liter or 2.5 liter bottles. You can choose the size that best suits your needs.

These are high-quality bottles of glass and plastic that protect your grass from smells and humidity. They are based on a system that generates an interior vacuum so that the plant retains its aroma and flavour, and does not dry out. These containers are of high quality, extremely durable, and apt for food storage.

Boxes go for 29 euros, up to 165,66. You will find more than ten models, including the Adarra humidity control box, the Bahamas, Caribe, Igueldo, Jamaica, Jaizkibel Extractor box and the Ulia Extractor. There is also the Big Box, Medium Box, Small Box, and Pocket Box. They sell for 29-150 euros (the larger the more expensive).

The boxes are made of cedar - the optimal material to cure marijuana. Some of them feature a hygrometer that allows you to measure the amount of internal humidity, as well as a humidifier that maintains a 60% humidity level, to prevent the grass from losing its properties. Most of the boxes feature meshes or accessories that help one to filter the most mature glands, and trays that catch resin.

With all these products you will be all set to undertake the growing and the harvesting of the marijuana that you cultivated with such great dedication for such a long time. It's just a question of patience, some acquired skills, and some good tools.
