What’s the difference between photoperiod and autoflowering seeds?

Feminised photoperiod seeds are different from autoflowering genetics in that, while the latter flowers automatically without having to change the light cycle, the former will only flower if the light cycle is changed. Autoflowering seeds have a life cycle of slightly more than two months. Photoperiod seeds require 4 months instead. Autoflowering seeds owe their amazing speed and autoflowering nature to the Ruderalis genotype, a kind of marijuana created in Siberia. There, plants had to adapt to the harsh weather conditions and the short summer of the area, a fact that explains their fast growth.
